A Hotel Near Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse

Gifted to the City of Boulder from their sister city of Dushanbe in Tajikistan, this ornate teahouse serves as a symbol of lasting friendship and cultural exchange. Constructed by hand and shipped to Boulder in 1990, the teahouse features brightly colored traditional paintings, Persian style plaster panels, and elaborate hand carved furnishings. The teahouse is a popular tourist destination that's also a working teahouse and restaurant.

  • What do the exterior tiles represent?

    Created by talented Tajikistani artist, Victor Zabolotnikov, the eight, hand carved ceramic panels depict a sacred Tree of Life, which alludes to the interconnection of all life on Earth.
  • Can I make a reservation at the tea house?

    Yes, you can make dinner reservations for dining after 5pm any day. Reservations are not accepted for daytime dining, however call ahead seating is available. Simply call 15 minutes before arrival to put your name on the wait list.
