Group Sales Manager

Hotel Boulderado is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position as Group Sales Manager. Market Segments will be aligned with selected candidates experience. If you are motivated by a good challenge and enjoy being compensated for your efforts, this is a great position to consider. We pay a fair base salary. Every booking earns commission on guestrooms, food, beverage, space and ancillary charges. Commissions are paid on a monthly basis and there is NO cap to commission earnings. Additionally, a quarterly bonus is earned if budgeted revenues are met. A successful person easily will earn $65,000 annually, but with a focused effort can earn $80,000+.

Job Description:
Group Sales Manager is responsible for the development of the group market segment, Individual Business Travel and solicitation of new group clients and accounts. The successful candidate will strive to maximize revenue and promote positive relationships and effectively negotiate guestroom and meeting room space rentals as well as food & beverage and ancillary services.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain a positive, professional relationship with clients through effective, timely, and reliable communication.
  • Achieve personal sales activity quotas, booking and consumption goals while adhering to established revenue management strategies
  • Develop and maintain favorable working relationships and open communication with all departments in the hotel
  • Develop profitable sales through proactive sales calls, and maintain active sales contact on all assigned accounts and within assigned market segments or territories
  • Build relationships with existing clients and rebook them for future events
  • Develop and execute quarterly targeted action plans
  • Communicate all pertinent information on upcoming group needs, VIP clients, and meeting functions to departmental staff
  • Maintain knowledge of industry and trends in market, particularly amongst competitive set and like properties
  • Maintain regular attendance and is consistently on time
  • Attend weekly meetings including sales and BEO
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include compliance with the property dress code
  • Maintain accurate, legible records and files to provide account history
  • Review and analyze weekly and monthly STR reports
 
Requirements:
  • Previous Hotel Sales Experience is Required
  • Previous professional sales training is Preferred
  • Previous Sales Experience in a Management role within the hospitality industry is preferred
  • Independent, Boutique Hotel Experience Preferred
  • Local market experience preferred
  • Works well independently and as part of a team
  • The ability to work with little or no supervision is required
  • Must be a self-starter, have a positive attitude, be forward thinking and team oriented
  • Passion for sales, identifying the decision makes and closing business
  • Results oriented, competitive and works well under pressure

catering sales manager

Position Overview:
Catering Sales Manager is responsible for the development of meetings & events business not associated with group blocks. The position is aligned with a group sales manager and will detail all meeting & events business sold by the group sales manager. Position will sell food, beverage, meeting room rental and ancillary items. The catering sales manager will strive to maximize revenue and promote positive relationships between departments and will foster client relationships.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Position will sell Meetings & Events and services on property as well as off-site catering to organizations and individuals
  • Establish and maintain a positive, professional relationship with clients through effective, timely, and reliable communication
  • Achieve personal sales activity quotas, booking and consumption goals while adhering to established revenue management strategies
  • Develop and maintain favorable working relationships and open communication with all departments in the hotel
  • Supervises functions in progress
  • Handles incoming inquiries and books premium business
  • Prepares banquet event orders, clearly and detailed after conclusion of interview and booking with client
  • Gathers as much information as possible so each function can proceed smoothly
  • Attends catering, sales, and food and beverage meetings as scheduled
  • Assists the Director of Sales in reviewing the function book and conducts evaluation of releasing or finalizing functions
  • Possesses knowledge of competition and what other companies offer their clientele.
  • Possesses knowledge of property policies and current pricing
  • Performs special projects and assignments in relationship to catering needs
  • Build relationships with existing clients and rebook them for future events
  • Develop and execute quarterly targeted action plans
  • Communicate all pertinent information on upcoming meetings & events
  • Through utilization of the CMS, keep files up to date through trace system allowing for accurate history of accounts
  • Books all private dining opportunities based on booking guidelines
 
Requirements:
  • Previous Catering experience at a comparable hotel or banquet facility
  • Previous Catering Management role within the hospitality industry is preferred
  • Local market experience preferred
  • Works well independently and on a team
  • Must be reliable, long hours are required
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include compliance with the property dress code

Concierge

As the concierge at Hotel Boulderado, you will be responsible for creating a unique and memorable guest experience by providing resources and recommendations developed from a thorough knowledge of all aspects of the hotel and outlets as well as local businesses, restaurants, venues and special events.
 
Starting pay is $12.00 an hour in addition to tips and other earning opportunities listed below.
 
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop positive, ongoing relationships with our guests by providing excellent resources and recommendations.
  • Accompany guests to local attractions as requested and participate in local tours through our shuttle service
  • Regularly walk the streets of Boulder to familiarize with new restaurants, shops, and points of interest.
  • Visit and research surrounding cities/towns of which might be of interest to our guests: (Estes Park, Lyons, Louisville, Golden, Downtown Denver, etc.)
  • Utilize your local expertise to arrange special perks and under-the-radar hot spots
  • Act as our resident dog-walker and dog-sitter or recommend local services as needed.
  • Develop relationships with local businesses to utilize any and all services that might benefit our guests.
  • Stay up-to-date on all City of Boulder events, all CU events, and special holiday happenings. Know what is going on in Boulder at all times and keep the front desk updated with this information.
  • Keep all brochures, business cards, promotions, etc. well stocked and up-to-date.
  • Check the concierge email daily, ensuring our guests are responded to in a timely and helpful manner.
  • Call all hotel arrivals to handle any special requests that guests may need prior to their stay, and develop guest itineraries as necessary.
  • Coordinate all VIP arrivals, transportation requests, welcome letters, massages, and guest room amenities.
  • Coordinate reservations for restaurants, travel, tours, flower deliveries, etc.
  • Process wedding, company & all gift bags that come into the hotel- ­organize and arrange for hand over or delivery by the front desk.
  • Incorporate all necessary guest information into the property management system as a centralized location for front desk and concierge to manage guest needs.
  • Research industry trends in relation to automated guest communication and concierge management systems.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop innovative group activities, community events, and special events within the hotel & outlets.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
 
Education & Experience 
  • Polite, outgoing personality with a passion for making a memorable guest experience.
  • 2 years of customer service experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Some college experience preferred.
  • Previous hotel concierge experience preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of local businesses, restaurants, venues, and an ongoing knowledge of special events.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
