Since 1909, Hotel Boulderado has offered Rocky Mountain elegance in the heart of downtown Boulder. Explore the history of an iconic building through self-guided and guided tours for individual and groups. The history tours have been curated and developed by Hotel Boulderado’s in-house historian, Laurel McKown.

Guided tours with our in-house historian are available for groups up to 15. If the group is larger, it will need to be broken up into different sessions or we can provide a special presentation. Please indicate your group size in the tour request.

Explore the 3rd floor of the historic wing of Hotel Boulderado, guided by a helpful brochure full of historic artifact information. Make sure to check-in with the Front Desk before starting the tour to receive the brochure and instructions on where to start. History book is available for purchase at the Front Desk.

Boulder-ado: The Hotel’s Place In Colorado History Tour
Our unusual name has a purpose, so one never forgets where they stayed. Learn about how the hotel fits into the history of the Centennial State and how the hotel grew alongside Boulder and Colorado. Tour our historic mezzanine, lobby, grand staircase, as well as other common areas.
The Boulderado Mystery Tour
After a general history of the hotel, dive into some secrets! For lovers of the superstitious, learn about “disappearing” rooms, the door to nowhere, and the quirks and mysteries the hotel has seen over its lifetime.
